THE REAL COURTNEY

SHALOM Y'ALL!

 As you may know my name is Courtney. I am a southern girl by birth and couldn't be happier. Even though I have loved every minute of living in Destrehan, Louisiana a girl always has dreams. My dream has always been to be MYSELF and achieve the IMPOSSIBLE. So for me that meant packing up my life and movin' on out to the West Coast. I now call my home the Alpha Delta Pi house in Tucson, Arizona (room 19 to be exact). I must say that is has been an adventure but I could not be more happy.

So why the University of Arizona you might ask!? Don't worry I get this question all the time. So here is my answer. As I told you earlier I always have dreams and my original career goal was to become a Senator  of Louisiana (who knows maybe it will still happen one day), which meant that I wanted to become a lawyer. The law school that I wanted to go to was VERY expensive so I decided to be DIFFERENT and go out of state for undergrad and then go back to Louisiana for law school. So where was I going to go!? All of my life I was a competitive dancer, and the summer before my sophomore year in high school I traveled to Arizona for a dance competition. Let's just say I was in love and knew it was where I was meant to be. If you know me at all you know I am a very determined person and will FIGHT to get what I want. So that is exactly what I did! I researched, I got scholarships, I paid for my application, I was dedicated and determined and in the end I got what I wanted because I WORKED HARD FOR IT! (always remember you MUST MUST MUST work hard to get what you want) So that is why I decided to go to the University of Arizona. 

Is that still the plan you might ask!? Well, I decided that being a lawyer was NOT FOR ME. Sorry world but I am to much of a people person to be a lawyer. Honestly though it still could happen. But I am no longer studying Political Science and that is okay with me. Not having a plan for a little while was VERY SCARY!! If you know me at all you know I cannot go without a plan. Plan Plan Plan is the way of life for me. And if I do not like the plan then that means I must have a change to the plan. But no matter what there is ALWAYS A PLAN! So what did I decide to do you might ask!? Well I decided to keep it general, so I have options. I am now a Communication major with a minor in Marketing. And what am I going to do with it you might ask, well to tell you the truth I have not exactly figured it out, but I have options. The two prospective future career goals I have in mind are...... 1. Public Relations: Party Planning or 2. Higher Education: Greek Advisor. Who knows though! I am still young and the plan CAN ALWAYS CHANGE!

So what else goes on in the wonderful world of Courtney.... Well lets see. I can only function unless I am stressed (a very strange habit to have I am aware) so I keep myself busy at school. I am the Member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Sweetheart of Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity.  Member of Rho Lambda Honor Society. Social and Events Chair for Order of Omega Honorary. Executive Office Intern at Alpha Delta Pi Headquarter Summer 2011. A full time student. A social butterfly. A daughter. A lover. A best friend. A believer. A traveler. A hard working, dedicated, and determined 22 year old girl, with dreams that I know one day will come true... and I would say that sums up my life. I guess you could say I like to keep myself busy. Check out "a few of my favorite things" to see what else I enjoy! 

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and I hope you enjoy reading about my daily adventures. I know sometimes it might seem silly to document several moments of my everyday life, but this blog was inspired by my traveling for my summer internship. Also since I do live far away from home majority of the year it is a good way to keep my family in the loop of what I am doing. I hope to make people giggle and add new places on their MUST GO TO list as I discover them. But if I could leave you all with one piece of advise it would be to KEEP DREAMING, because the world is a big place and there are lots of things for us to discover!
